The day when My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ) takes over the world will be a happy happy day

As stated in my profile, I am currently substituting. In one of the classes, there is a teacher from Japan. As it seems to be inevitable with me, I finally divulged the fact that I am a huge, huge anime fan (you know, because I never shut up) and Ms. Y and I got to talking about the different anime and of course, My Neighbor Totoro came up (because it is like the most famous anime EVER) and I talked about how much I liked it and all. This morning she returned to tell me that her son (about 9) was soooooooooo excited that someone else knew about Totoro (I just guess that there is a lack of anime fans in West GA). She said that when they first got the movie for him when he was much younger, he would watch it over and over again. He would also go outside, gather acorns and say that they were magic. So cute (or kawaii 可愛い as they say in Japan) Well, here's to you - Ms. Y's son - the very best anime ever - a snippet I snagged from Youtube - My Neighbor Totoro

Quote of the day

Peter to Gabrielle upon talking about what they are made of:
"You're not one of the normal girls made of spice, rice and everything nice"

Peter, it's sugar, spice and everything nice

You know you live in the south when

.............Everybody you know blogs or posts fb pictures about the recent 1 or 2 inches of snow.
So Here Are Mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It started about 11:45 this morning and I was lucky enough to have the day off already. Benjamin really enjoyed running around - for a minute or two until he got cold
He knows when to pose
One of our trees fell last Friday and last Saturday, Larry chopped it all - too bad we don't have a fireplace
It would snow the day after trash day when everyone's trash cans are still next to the street. Larry says I can photoshop those out, though

The best half time show EVER

I hope it loaded, because it is the cutest ever. While watching the superbowl half time show, Benjamin decided to pull over the trash can, turn it upside down and use it for a drum. Who needs The Who? I have Benjamin!

I am a stalker

Currently, I am working in an elementary school. I get the chance to work occasionally in a certain Kindergarten room. Across the hall, there is another kindergarten room that I have never worked with, but because of its proximity to the one I am working with, one day I witnessed this other class filing into their room and experienced the most bizarre case of deja vu. There was a child walking into this other classroom that looked EXACTLY LIKE Peter did when he was about kindergarten age. Every time I go to the kindergarten classroom I am supposed to go to, I start looking for this little boy in the other class. It takes my breath away every time I see him. I think this child looks more like Peter than Benjamin will when he gets that age. It is like walking back in time. I really do feel like a stalker because I purposely look for this child so I can be hurtled back to the past for a brief fraction of a second. I looked for pictures of Peter from that era to see if I wasn't just seeing things, and I don't think I am. Talk about doppleganger. It is just a little freaky.

No you aren't seeing things incorrectly - I did turn this picture upside down. Peter has a penchant for lying on couches and comfy chairs in an upside down postion

silence because of camera loss

Yes, I lost the camera - AGAIN. And this time I lost the NEW camera. All my photos that I had not saved, which aren't many, but still - cub scout skate night and a new baby (not mine - a friend's) are all lost with wherever the camera is. The last time we saw it was at skate night, but we did believe the camera made it home. I haven't brought myself to use the old camera again yet. This and working is why my blog remains untouched.
